The Bernards Township Health Department urges the public to take advantage of its February H1N1 flu vaccinationclinics as the H1N1 virus is still widespread in New Jersey and cases are likely to increase in the coming months.  Clinics will be held on Monday, February 1st, 8th and March 1st at Ridge High School in Basking Ridge, and on Tuesday, February 16th at West Morris Mendham High School in Mendham. All clinics are from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Appointments should be made through the ‘Shotline’ at www.greatersomerseth1n1.org or by calling (908) 533-9330. Walk-ins will be served only if there is extra available vaccine.  The clinics are free and available to the general public with no age or health condition restrictions.
“This H1N1 virus is not over yet and is expected to continue well into the spring,” according to Bernards Township Health Officer Lucy A. Forgione. “We recommend the vaccine for all, but especially for children, teens, young adults and those with chronic conditions because the H1N1 virus is still causing hospitalizations and deaths in those groups,” she said.

The public should check the Bernards Township Health Department website for updated clinic dates and information at www.bernardshealth.org, or for cancellations due to inclement weather. More clinics may be added in 2010 depending on the demand.
The Bernards Township Health Department is a Contractual Health Agency serving Bernards Township, Bernardsville Borough, Chester Borough, Mendham Borough, Mendham Township, Long Hill Township and Peapack-Gladstone Borough.
