BERNARDS TOWNSHIP HEALTH DEPARTMENT ANNOUNCES

FIRST WEEK OF H1N1 VACCINATION CLINICS

 

BASKING RIDGE, NJ (October 27, 2009) -- The Bernards Township Health Department has scheduled the first week of H1N1 Influenza vaccination clinics for those at high risk of complications from H1N1 Influenza using an appointment based system in conjunction with the Greater Somerset Public Health Partnership Inc. 

            Clinics will be held at Ridge High School in Basking Ridge on November 2; at West Morris Mendham High School in Mendham on November 3; and at Bernards High School in Bernardsville on November 4, 2009.  All clinics are from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.  Appointments can be made through the ‘Shotline’ at www.greatersomerseth1n1.org or by calling (908) 533-9330. Walk-ins will only be served only if there is extra available vaccine. Residents may make appointments at any clinic location listed on the ‘Shotline.’  At this time, appointments are only being accepted for the following priority groups:

 

ü  Pregnant women

ü  People who live with or care for infants under six months of age

ü  Health care and emergency medical service personnel with direct patient contact

ü  Children 6 months through 4 years of age

ü  Children 5 years through 18 years of age who have chronic medical conditions

 

 “As more vaccine is delivered, more clinics will be scheduled for other groups of people,” said Lucy A. Forgione, Health Officer.  “Residents can attend any clinic in any town listed on the ‘Shotline.’

Residents should check the Bernards Township Health Department website for updated clinic dates and information at www.bernardshealth.org.  Should clinics be cancelled due to vaccine shortage, clinics will be rescheduled once vaccine is replenished.  Also check with your health care provider for availability of vaccine.
