Volunteers Needed-Emergency Services Siren Committee

Release Date: November 16, 2011
The Township Committee Is Seeking To Appoint An Ad Hoc Committee To Study The Emergency Services Sirens

Ad Hoc Committee to Review Emergency Service Sirens

The Township Committee is seeking to appoint an ad hoc committee to conduct further study on the Emergency Services sirens located in Brookside and Ralston. The sirens are presently a primary emergency notification mechanism for the volunteer services. Concerns have been raised about the impact the sirens have on the quality of life for neighboring residents.   The committee will be tasked with the responsibility of reviewing the options for addressing the siren’s impact and coming up with a plan for the sirens that balances quality of life objectives with the needs of the emergency service personnel who rely on the siren.

Residents interested in being considered for appointment to the committee should complete/submit the volunteer form on the Township website click here, or send a letter of interest to the Township Committee c/o Ann Carlson, Township Clerk, Post Office Box 520 Brookside, NJ 07926. The deadline for submittal is November 28. Residents with questions about the sub-committee and/or the project may contact Township Administrator, Steve Mountain at 973-543-4555
