UPDATE

The repairs are complete and the wells are back in service. Crews are on site flushing high points in the system and restoring the work site.

The tank serving the area will fill slowly. Customers are still experiencing low pressure. Barring any other system issues customers should experience normal pressures by 6:00pm today.

From This Morning;

New Jersey American Water has reported a 12" water main break in a ROW off of Mountainside Road in Mendham Borough. The nearest cross street would be Mountain Avenue. The break effects approximately 100 customers in Mendham Township on the following streets:

Horizon Drive
Glenbrook Drive
Overlook Ln.
Lone Spruce
Combs Hollow Road
Cramer Lane
Calais Rd
Parkwood Lane
Tall Oaks Ct
Samantha Lane

Customers may experience no water/low pressure on the streets listed above. A temporary hydrant-to-hydrant pump is being set up to provide an alternate source of water to the affected customers. Crews are on site making repairs and estimate the repairs will be completed by noon today.

It has been determined that a boil water advisory is not necessary because positive pressure was maintained in the system throughout the shutdown (controlled shutdown). Precautionary water samples will be taken once repairs are complete.

An "alert" has been created for this main break and the fire department notified.
