Annual Morris County 4-H Fair Set for July 19-22

The annual Morris County 4-H Fair, a fun celebration of the work of 4-H youths from across Morris County, mixed in with hot air balloons, fireworks, and amusement rides and games, will kick off a four-day run on Thurs., July 19 to Sun., July 22 at Chubb Park in Chester Township!

Annual Morris County 4-H Fair Set for July 19-22The annual Morris County 4-H Fair, a fun celebration of the work of 4-H youths from across Morris County, mixed in with hot air balloons, fireworks, and amusement rides and games, will kick off a four-day run on Thursday, July 19 to Sunday, July 22 at Chubb Park in Chester Township.

A wide variety of family-friendly activities are planned, including pony and hay rides, petting zoos, watermelon eating, cake decorating and dress-a-pet contests, animal shows, archery, a tricky tray, and even “cow pie bingo” to go with the live entertainment and delicious food.

“The 4-H Fair is the showcase event that shares the achievements and hard work of our youth members. This is a great opportunity for everyone to enjoy family fun activities and to discover new interest.” said Kelly Dziak,  Morris County 4-H Program Associate.Annual Morris County 4-H Fair Set for July 19-22

“This is a great family friendly event that is centered around the hard work done by these great 4-H kids, who represent some of our best young people, and who are future leaders of their communities and our county,’’ said Morris County Freeholder Doug Cabana, who will participate in formal opening ceremonies at the fair this week. “We invite all county residents, from Riverdale to Chatham to Jefferson, to visit the fair.’’

There is no admission fee for the fair, but a parking donation of $5 per vehicle is requested. On Friday evening, in preparation for the fireworks, parking will be $10, which includes 3-D fireworks glasses.

Annual Morris County 4-H Fair Set for July 19-22A special $15 pay-one-price for all kiddie rides is scheduled for Friday, July 20, from 11a.m. until 1p.m., and a $30 pay-one-price for all amusement rides will be offered on Thursday from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. 

Here are just a few highlights:

  • Thursday, July 19th
    • Fair open 4-10 p.m.
    • Amusement rides, music, food and 4H activities
  • Friday, July 20th
    • Fair open 10 a.m.-10 p.m.
    • Fireworks show in evening. Rain date, Saturday
  • Saturday, July 21st
  • Sunday, July 22nd
    • Fair open 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
    • Amusement rides, music, food, and 4-H activities

Dogs may be brought to the fair, but they must be on a 6-foot leash.  Retractable leashes are not allowed in the park.
