Raymond Nadaskay Honored with Proclamation

Raymond Nadaskay, “Ray”, has been a member of the Mendham Township Historic Preservation Committee from its beginning forty years ago.

At the January 9th, 2019 Township Committee Meeting, Raymond Nadaskay was honored with a Proclamation for his years of service to the Community.

 

PROCLAMATION

 

WHEREAS, Raymond Nadaskay, “Ray”, has been a member of the Mendham Township Historic Preservation Committee from its beginning forty years ago and, in recent years, served as Chairman; and

 

WHEREAS, through his inspiration, dedication, and leadership, along with support from the Township Committee, Ray orchestrated the saving and restoration of the Ralston Cider Mill to its original working condition which, today, draws school classes, scouts, historians and interested visitors from the State, and beyond; and

 

WHEREAS, Ray organized a volunteer group, known as the “Millers,” to share the mill’s rich history, including apple pressing and the distillation of Tiger Applejack which, during Prohibition, continued production in an underground facility; and

 

WHEREAS, Ray, in many ways, has generously shared his talents and expertise to the benefit of all Township residents.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and Township Committee of the Township of Mendham, on behalf of the residents, hereby extends to Raymond Nadaskay our heartfelt thanks and our utmost respect and appreciation for his remarkable contributions to the preservation of Mendham Township’s long history.
