New Funds for Farmers!

Farmers in the Black River Watershed area of Morris, Somerset, and Hunterdon counties may be eligible for cost-share on conservation activities.

MORRIS, March 28, 2019 – New Jersey Conservation Foundation has secured Regional Conservation Partnership Program (RCPP) funding for soil and water protection in the Black River Greenway, which includes portions of Morris, Somerset and Hunterdon Counties. Farmers can check their eligibility using New Jersey Water Supply’s (NJWSA) interactive map.

 

More information will be available at an informational meeting on March 28, 2019 at 9:00 AM at the Bamboo Brooke Music Room, 170 Longview Road, Chester, NJ 07903. Staff will provide information about eligible projects, and the application process for EQIP-RCPP and NJWSA’s agricultural mini-grant program, which can provide additional funding for projects implementing practices with a water quality benefit such as cover crop, livestock fencing from waterbodies, and other erosion, sediment, and nutrient control practices. Funding applications are now available and must be submitted by Friday, May 3.
