To the Residents of Mendham Township:

Your volunteer First Aid Squad is working in close and ongoing consultation with government
and health officials to ensure that we remain prepared not only for the COVID-19 pandemic, but for our citizens’ other serious injuries and illnesses 24/7. Do not hesitate to call 9-1-1 in case of a medical emergency.

We aim to provide the highest level of emergency medical service to our patients while protecting the health of our first responders and our local police. That requires a few changes to what you may have experienced in the past:

• The dispatcher you reach when you dial 9-1-1 may ask additional questions to better inform us about the emergency.
• It is likely that only one first responder will enter your home initially to assess the emergency.
• Expect first responders to wear masks and other protective gear for your safety and their own.
• Expect a few minutes of extra response time for the donning of protective gear before we enter your home.

​Please check by telephone on elderly neighbors and friends to ensure that they are safe. In-person wellness checks are not recommended at the present time.

We hope that all residents will encourage one another to practice social distancing, frequent hand-washing, and the avoidance of touching eyes, nose, and mouth.  If you or any member of your household is feeling unwell, self-quarantine at the first sign of illness. Initial COVID-19 symptoms differ by individual.
