Post-Election

Release Date: November 07, 2020
A Message from Mayor Sarah Neibart

This year’s election had the highest number of votes cast in New Jersey history. Although we don’t have a complete count yet, we expect that well over 4 million New Jerseyans voted in this election.  That is incredible. I’d like to extend a special thanks to our Township Clerk and poll workers who helped ensure a smooth Election Day in Mendham Township.

Since this election was primarily held by Vote-By-Mail, each county is still processing and counting the ballots. More Vote-By-Mail ballots postmarked by Election Day - Tuesday, November 3rd - will continue to arrive and be processed and counted through Tuesday, November 10th. Provisional ballots cast at polling locations will be verified and counted after all Vote-By-Mail ballots have been tallied. Morris County’s Election Results will continue to be updated on the Morris County Elections Center website. You can continue tracking the status of your ballot by signing up for a My Voter Record account.

Although many of us are anxiously awaiting results of various races, it is time to come together and begin transitioning to our post-election life.

If you put lawns signs up on public property, you have until Wednesday, November 18th (15 days after the election) to take them down. If you have any questions or concerns regarding our Township sign ordinance, please feel free to contact me directly at sneibart@mendhamtownship.org or call us at the Township at: 973-543-4555.

Regardless of who you voted for, our democratic society and governmental institutions are based on the votes of the people, and the more people that participate in this process, the stronger it becomes.

Have a great weekend, and enjoy the beautiful weather!

Sarah Neibart

Mayor, Mendham Township
