On January 22, 2025 the Township Council of the Township of West Milford adopted Resolution 2025-084 which relates to the Township's Fourth Round Affordable Housing Obligations. In accordance with New Jersey law, on January 24, 2025 the Township filed an Action with the Superior Court of New Jersey along with Resolution 2025-084 to initiate the Township's participation in the State's Affordable Housing Dispute Resolution Program. Registration deadline is 21 days before an election. Registration is permanent in New Jersey but one must re-register for the following reasons: Change in name due to marriage, divorce or by judgement of a court, Change in residence. Exception is a move within the County and voter has not notified the commission, they go to new polling site and vote by Provisional Ballot. When voter changes name, they vote by sign both names at time of voting.

This application must be received by the County Clerk not later than 7 days prior to the election, unless you apply in person or via an authorized messenger during County Clerk's office hours, but no later than 3:00 p.m. the day prior to the election. Print the application and mail it to the Passaic County Clerk. The Passaic County Clerk's Office will then mail the BALLOT to address given in the application.

This form is to be submitted with all Rental Housing Applications, including the $25 fee and proper insurance certificate.

The Township retained the services of LEW Environmental Services to assist with the management of lead testing of rental units. Click to see attached "Fees & Costs" if an independent inspection is completed for the State fee of $20.00 and a $25.00 administrative fee along with the lead free certificate that must be submitted to the Clerk's Office for processing.

If you own a rental property in Township of West Milford please read the attached notice to comply with the NJ Lead Safe Certification Law that requires to have a visual inspection of the rental property by March 31, 2026.
